It's not the thing to do. You leave it in your mouth to be absorbed sublingually and then just swallow what is left. That's what I suggest and what I did. I won't debate spitting or swallowing. Hi everybody, I was just eating lunch and reading some threads for my afternoon boost, and I saw where someone said you are suppose to spit out the saliva after the films dissolve. Is this so? Nobody ever told me this. I was asking as I never have done that, just had to keep swallowing and swallowing after and my throat goes numb and I have problems swallowing for awhile.
Also, I am now getting the wickedest of headaches, bad enough to be called migraines I think. I have never had a migraine before, but my son and a few of my family members suffer from them so I have seen them in action. I have never had that much head pain beforeever.
Is this from not spitting the saliva out? I sure hope someone sees this and can answer before my next sub dose. You can actually spit out the dregs but I would wait at least 10 full minutes to make sure that the medicine is fully absorbed under the tongue. You can also use breath mint or other small candy if you hate the taste while you are trying to dissolve the medication. I was actually kinda shocked to read that comment. The strip or pill needs to remain under your tongue until completely dissolved. You CAN swallow your saliva while the medicine dissolves. I have heard some say strips cause nausea. I've been lucky to never experience that. I've also heard the pills cause headaches in some. Again, I've been very lucky to never have that happen. Certain insurances only allow pills. In my experience, the strips have worked best.

The only people who spit out the saliva after the medication is dissolved are those who are hypersensitive to the naloxone - that seems to help alleviate symptoms. I haven't stayed fully consistant on the dose yet as I am trying to see what works best for me. Like I said, I am only on it 8 days so far.
